The most exciting sequence in this pirate adventure is the amazing chase as the heroes played by Geena Davis and Matthew Modine escape from their pursuers by horse-drawn carriage. It was filmed on the western waterfront of Vittoriosa, known as Xatt ir-Risq, the long straight stretch of dockside in front of the Maritime Museum. The film also shot scenes at Mdina, Fort St Elmo and Dingli Cliffs and in the water tanks at Mediterranean Film Studios.
